Neighborhoods- How do you choose a place to live?
If you are a Millennial or Generation X, you probably are looking for something modern, move in condition, urban. How do you find these neighborhoods?
Contact a local Real estate Company, research online- town websites, visit the local library, town hall.
Generation X - looking for a neighborhood with similar incomes, ages, perhaps with small children. Many with a school close by and playground or other outdoor activities for kids even up to high school age. If you are moving up from your first house to a larger, close knit area where you can have some communication with your neighbors, visit the local school. Find out what neighborhoods the students live in.
1960's Baby Boomers- Your children are out of the home- basically- either to job, college, apartment with friends. You may be thinking about downsizing to a not dramatically smaller home.
If you wait- you are beginning Baby Boomers- kids are grown, have families of their own, and you would like to have time to travel, less overall home maintenance, perhaps a one level home or condo.
And finally- The Mature/Silents- Your children have college children and perhaps you need a home that has less maintenance, closer to friends and family, perhaps a retirement complex with facilities for assisted living, should you need the extra help.
Many Buyers are looking for the "Tiny House" a home with under 1000 sf in living space.
